China’s current green development is the most rapid, large-scaled construction boom in recent human history. Our strategic project partner, Max Perelman of BuildingWise and two colleagues embarked on a 9 week, 9 city journey across China for the production of their documentary on China’s construction industry, The Green Dragon.
They interviewed and filmed over 65 people from government officials and high level developers to product manufacturers, architects, and lawyers. These interviews provided a comprehensive perspective on the obstacles and opportunities presented to China in expanding its sustainable construction and development. Through The Green Dragon documentary film, we gain insight into the realities of the green construction industry in China, its innovation, and its successes. The Green Dragon is a spectacular and insightful documentary film that everyone should watch. Check out the timely and informative trailer for the documentary film below.

“When people don’t have enough food and clothes, they strive for skyscrapers and high rises to disguise that fact and make themselves look wealthy. But when we have food and clothes, we want to be more humble and reserved. We want to restore old things to reflect our class.” – Yang Xin, Beijing Xisi-Bei, Ltd.

The Trade Mission was crucial for cultivating strategic business relationships and identifying opportunities in a region poised for economic growth with the recent formation a common market. We were intrigued by the warmth, ingenuity and hard work of the people, and their knowledge and appreciation of Trinidad and Tobago’s role as an economy with over 100 years of experience in the oil industry. The stark beauty of the landscape captivated us, as did the realisation of the potential opportunity to build upon and preserve a long and valued relationship between Trinibagonians and the vibrant East African nations we visited.
